We regret to inform you of the passing of Reverend Henry C. Samuels, January 27, 2012. He was 80 years old.  His home-going service was celebrated on February 26, 2012.

The Late Reverend Henry C. Samuels

Reverend Henry C. Samuels served as a Missionary with the Foreign Mission Board for more than 20 years. He worked on our Vine Memorial Baptist Mission in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The mission work of our Vine Memorial Baptist Mission includes primary, junior and secondary schools in numerous villages, feeding ministries, the Vine Memorial Baptist Church and 5 National Baptist Churches in neighboring villages.  His son, Rev. Henry A. Samuels, continues to supervise our mission work.

Rev. Henry Samuels began as a Chaplain for our Vine Memorial School for Girls. In 1988 he founded the Vine Memorial Baptist Church in Freetown, Sierra Leone with just 7 members. In 2008, we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Vine Memorial Baptist Church.

Rev. Samuels was a native of Sierra Leone. He was married and had 4 adult children. His birthday was November 8th.
